How did you first come into contact with GSS?

Through my colleagues, who had already used it on other construction sites.

Why did you choose to use the GSS system?

After hearing so many positive comments from fellow site managers and our workers, I wanted to test and evaluate the GSS formwork system myself. We carried out an internal cost analysis, which showed that the GSS formwork system was more cost-effective than installing traditional edge formwork. Our calculation took both material and labour costs into account.

What are the main benefits of the system?

The system is quick and easy to install. The edge profiles are installed before the slabs are positioned, directly on top of the external walls, and are available in different heights. Another advantage is that the edge protection posts can remain in place while the next slab is being built, as they lean slightly outwards and therefore do not obstruct the bricklaying work. The edge protection posts can simply be removed once the masonry has reached sufficient height.
For the prefabricated beams above the windows, the precast supplier integrated the edge profiles directly into the elements, so they arrived on site ready to use. Installing the edge profiles is faster than constructing traditional edge formwork using timber boards and separate edge protection systems. This makes the GSS system both time-saving and cost-effective. Finally, the GSS brackets are also extremely useful for smaller openings, such as stairwells and lift shafts.

Would you recommend GSS, and why?

Absolutely. In my view, there are nothing but advantages.
