How did you first come into contact with GSS?
On the Wings project in Diegem. We were looking for an effective solution for installing 5 kilometres of curved edge formwork on a slab formwork system. After several visits from the GSS demonstration vehicle, it quickly became clear that GSS offered the ideal solution for the job.
Why did you choose to use the GSS system?
The GSS system is a very fast edge formwork solution with an integrated edge protection system. The material cost may be slightly higher, but this is more than offset by the savings in installation costs.
What are the main benefits of the system?
Fast installation of the edge formwork, an integrated edge protection system that helps meet all applicable safety requirements (separate edge protection holders must be purchased once, as these are not included), and a flexible system for a wide range of applications such as concrete walls, calcium silicate blocks, cantilevered slabs, etc.
Would you recommend GSS, and why?
After using the edge formwork on the Wings project, we were immediately convinced that we should use GSS again on future projects.
Is there anything else you would like to mention?
The GSS system now includes several solutions: GSS Standard, GSS Beam, GSS Edge and GSS BOX. For virtually every application, there is a tailored edge formwork and edge protection solution. We experienced this firsthand on the Elegant Wonen project, where we are currently constructing 45 apartments. On one slab, we had to combine three different systems, and Berno supported us throughout the process. For a small setup fee, the system can always be adapted to the specific requirements of your construction site.
